The Tikvah Project 9/21/2011
The ALS Hope Foundation and the Israel ALS Research Association (IsrALS) introduce The Tikvah Project, a unique initiative that supports international collaboration focused on discovering the cause and cure of ALS. To achieve this, we will grant the “Nir Tsoran International ALS Research Award” to a team formed between researchers in Philadelphia and Israel. The Award will be administered by PhIND.
This September, The Tikvah Project will kick things off with a cocktail benefit. From there, our goal is to raise $200,000. Half of that will be allocated to the research award. The remaining funds will support clinical programs of ALS Hope and IsrALS for the care and treatment of people currently living with ALS.
Guest speakers include Dr. Skirley Kutner, senior executive consultant in Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Drexel University, and Efrat Carmi, IsrALS CEO. Special guest, the
Honorable Daniel Kutner, Consul General of Israel in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the US, will also be in attendance.
We will present the award in May 2012 at the Israel BioMed conference.
