The neurodegenerative Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS, is a ravaging, quick-acting phenomenon. Attacking the brain nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles, ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, does not differentiate between victims and in Israel there are nearly 700 patients.

IsrA.L.S is the only organization in Israel dedicated to raising awareness and support for this insidious disease. Leading nationwide efforts to help the patients gain the physical and psychological assistance they need, IsrA.L.S raises public attention and fuels critical research. Established in 2004, IsrA.L.S has turned what is widely considered an orphan disease into an urgent issue now firmly placed on the agenda of Israeli scientific-medical advancement.

Believing that hope is stronger than fear, IsrA.L.S has accomplished a great deal in a remarkably short period of time and with limited resources.

With minimal staff, a tight budget and big hearts, IsrA.L.S is making a significant impact among the ALS community. Promoting greater empowerment of patients and driving a quiet revolution in research, IsrA.L.S has become the first and only address for ALS in Israel.
